The raised rear gives more grip and provides a much better power transmission on straight stretches and especially uphill. The strong silhouette and the narrow saddle nose provide more legroom, while the proven SQlab ERGOWAVE® shape noticeably relieves the dam area. The cover is first and foremost extremely light but also abrasion-resistant and non-slip. The padding is strongly minimized and consists of a closed-cell foam. The comfort comes from the shape and the flex behavior between rails - shell - foam, which is coordinated as an overall system.

Technologies & Innovations of the SQlab 612 Ergowave R

ERGOWAVE®

The ERGOWAVE® Form was developed from a SQlab research project in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Frankfurt and the University Hospital Frankfurt, funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. For the first time in a research project, the occurring forces and the maximum load limits between man and bicycle saddle could be calculated down to the deepest structures of the body. The final result is the ERGOWAVE® saddle shape for the sporty seating position on the racing bike and MTB, with absolute best values below the maximum load limits in all tests.

Save Energy

The wave-shaped elevation of the ERGOWAVE® saddles stretching forward from the rear perfectly matches the shape of the most bulbous ischial branches. The rider does not have to adopt any power-sapping protective postures. All the energy is available for propulsion.

Deep and Flat

The flat, only slightly curved shape of the saddle nose results in a maximum contact surface with correspondingly little pressure. The nose is very narrow and the lateral friction during the pedaling movement is reduced to a minimum. This shape, called SQlab MaxContact®, has already proven itself in several other racing models in recent years and has been implemented even more consistently for the ERGOWAVE® series.

Suspension Setup

The proven SQlab active technology has been tightened for Road and MTB applications and can be adjusted to three degrees of hardness using elastomers.

Weight and Flex optimized

More lateral stiffness and perfectly coordinated material Flex to the side mean more comfort with less weight at the same time.

Strong Sidecut

The strong sidecut and the narrow saddle nose create maximum legroom.
